Horrific cruelty

A mother sentenced to life imprisonment for beating her son to death on the pretext that he had failed to memorise passages from the koran satisfactorily.  Simply horrific.

I can't help thinking that every time the Church of England touches the issue of homosexuality it comes across as incoherent with a streak of intolerance.

Sanity

Some calm and well considered words on the separation that there should be between church and state in the UK.

Get the church out of the state,and the state will stay out of the church

Women straddling motorbikes considered a moral hazard

The BBC reports on a city in Aceh Province, in Indonesia that intends to ban women from straddling motorbikes because the practice "violates islamic values".  It probably doesn't, but why waste an opportunity to push women around.
